Every time a user visits the Bundeswehr website or a file is accessed, data related to this action is temporarily saved in a log file and processed. Previously to being saved, the IP address of each data set is changed to render it anonymous. Specifically, for every visit/access the following data is collected:

• anonymised IP address,
• date and time,
• browser,
• page visited / name of the accessed file,
• data volume transferred,
• notification about success/failure of the visit/access.

This data is analysed for statistical purposes and in order to improve the web presence. Any other use or transfer to third parties will only take place if required by law or by a court decision.

Whenever web pages are accessed, temporary cookies are used to facilitate navigation. These cookies do not contain personal data and expire at the end of the session or after one month at the latest.

In the event of orders being placed or feedback being given, the personal data provided will only be processed for the shipping of the requested publications or information or for other purposes explicitly stated in the forms and will not be forwarded to third parties.
